Αθηνά Ζαπουνίδη

Born in the former Soviet Union to Greek parents, Athena Zapounidi moved to Greece at the age of eight and got her BA in English studies from the University of Athens (2009). Currently working on her thesis for an MA in English Literature at the University of Amsterdam (2012) and looking forward to continuing her studies on a PhD level.

A teacher, translator but above all author, with basic focus on poetry, Athena is greatly interested in all forms of art (among others: music, theater, film, photography, performance art, painting, sculpture and dancing) and is closely related to a variety of artists with whom she often collaborates her projects trying to give writing and texts more perspectives and a new horizon.
